Seriously, Nice Job there!

So the day after a wedding gives headaches and body slothfulness that we in the business fondly call "wedding hangover". Imagine carrying equipment, putting up with (often) retarded family members and making sure you are EXTRA pleasant, EXTRA patient, and EXTRA attentive for 8-12 hours straight. No breaks, pleasant laughter and not usually recommended to tell people how stupid they really are... Why do I keep doing this?? I ask myself on a regular basis and realize that simply put.. I'm a people person. Couldn't survive without them. I joke often about the island in a far off place away from everyone and everything to get away but the truth is.. I just wouldn't last long. "Chatty Cathy" I think they call it. It really is a God given talent I think you either have or you don't and BABY! I'VE GOT IT! OK so I digress.. When I decided to tell you all about this little drunkenness problem of mine and the problems it causes the day after such a social occasion I looked for a great illustration and found this awesome t-shirt..

and speaking of awesome it reminded me of something...

So when I saw cousin Paul recently he gave me a fine treasure that I am proud to display. Generally speaking 1st place in anything is a wonderful accomplishment but to be first at this... See picture as follows...

it goes to prove what I've always claimed... Yes, I'm good in the sack. and as it says in the center of my precious medallion.. "Seriously, Nice Job There!"

TANG- A symbol of mothers love for her family

"In 1957, after two years of research, General Foods Corporation first launched Tang powdered beverage in the US in test markets. Tang was introduced in Canada and Venezuela in 1959, and in Great Britain and Peru in 1961.
The brand’s biggest claim to fame was as a passenger on board manned space flights. The Gemini 4 astronauts were the first to bring Tang along on their mission in 1965. In fact, a special drink dispenser was designed for Tang for the mission. The brand continued crossing atmospheric borders over the ensuing 10 years, during which it was served on all manned Gemini and Apollo space flights.
Today, more than 10 percent of Tang business comes from the US, where the brand is available in both powdered and ready-to-drink formats. Most Tang drinkers in the US are “tweens,” children aged nine to 12.
While there are many different taste preferences for Tang around the globe, Kraft researchers have found that consumers’ perceptions of the brand are quite similar across all markets: Tang is a symbol of a mother’s love for her family. "

Kraft Foods 1995

Since my birth I have had a love for the sweet goodness of Tang. Most recently since my desire for change included giving up Dr. Pepper and eliminating it from my life, I returned to the orangy love that has been blessing my tastebuds for 36 years. Now officially I can say I once again am showing the symbol of true love for my family..now if I could just get my hands on the special astonaut drink dispenser.....

Shopping at Sam's Club

This morning I asked my husband if he wanted to go to Sam's club with me. Still a bit reluctant I informed him that Sam's club is a "totally NEW shopping experience not like any other". Suddenly interested he quickly showered and prepped for the drive to Idaho Falls. Just as we were ready to walk out the door I asked him if he really was going to wear the shirt he had on. Looking a bit puzzled he wondered why it would matter and informed me that if he was going to go shopping "NUDE" he could certainly wear whatever he wanted until he got there.

Idaho Photo Convention

As a photographer I spend way too much time in front of the computer when in reality I got in to this business so I could be behind the camera. Once or twice a year I get to have smart and experienced people tell me that my long bouts of computer junking are alright and that I'm actually suppose to make money at this. Don't get me wrong, I truely enjoy the computer work, I just need a really good assistant to do the crappy stuff like download cards and get the images to the internet. Anyway..back to the subject..once or twice a year is Photo Convention. There are more that we can go to but I try and keep it to a minimum. I mean shesh I actually do have to work sometime. How else will I get those great portraits of families in black shirts in rural settings? Photo Convention is hit and miss sometimes on the ah ha moments. Some times i get them and sometimes I don't. This year the Idaho association really hit it right on the head. Great convention. I actually learned something. Cool huh? Have I mentioned Print Competition? I haven't entered because I'm a loser but stay tuned fine friends. Next year is my year. RAH! Congratulations to my best friend ever Robin for her Outstanding award and merit print for "group" and also my other great friend Bill Burns for first place in "Portrait Woman" and judges choice. Mostly for them it was just entering for the first time ever in competition. Congratulations are also in order to Bevan Whitear, Steve Mackley, Todd Hicken and Dennis Hammon, they win awards every year and should start measuring their awards in inches and feet instead of actual plaques because they do so well, but are outstanding photographers and really deserve it. So, if you have been feeling neglected you know where i've been. Listening to positive people, eating out, and hanging out with great friends. Well, back to reality...
